Joaquín Morales is a Mexican-American cinematographer currently based in Los Angeles whose often fascinated by exploring “the invisible” and the overlooked. Although a Chicago native, he has also grown up in Kansas and Puerto Rico which is what he attributes to understanding the importance of learning how to continue becoming a conscious image maker.
He especially enjoys being able to curate “meditations” and invitations (aka “quantum cinema”) within his projects that often ask audience members to take a pause from the chaos of life: something we rarely get the chance to say yes to.
Off set, you can often find him getting lost in a photo walk with his point and shoot, sipping on a latte with oatmilk, or listening to shoegaze.
